Fruit Of The Spirit: Self-Control Through The Love Of Christ

2 minute read

This week's blog is focusing on the final fruit of the Spirit, Self-Control. True self-control isn't just about willpower or personal restraint; it is about a transformative surrender. As our hearts anchor to the Spirit of God, we learn to say "YES" to His ways and "no" to the impulses that pull us away from His good plans. We found a fantastic blog written by Jennifer Gross, a women's ministry leader, that we just had to share with you. She speaks on the fruit of self-control, using strength & love, practice, and surrender. If you enjoy her writing, you can find more pieces at the end of her blog in the Read More in the Fruit of the Spirit Series.

Before you click over to read today's blog, let us Pause & Pray together. Father God, As I faithfully follow Jesus, I will use the words he said, "not my will, but Yours be done." It takes great self-control to put these words into practice, Lord. So I am very thankful that You sent Your Spirit to dwell within me, guiding me and growing my self-control. I know it is only through total surrender that I can truly walk in Your ways. Let me live with control so that I can lavishly share the other fruits of Your Spirit: love, patience, kindness, gentleness, and goodness with all of those around me. Let my practice of self-control lead me to a life filled with peace, joy, and a deeper faith. It is in the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen
