Fruit Of The Spirit: Peace - Yoga Mini Flow

Lindsay is a faith-based yoga instructor who teaches classes with the aim of helping people grow in their faith and yoga practice. She is a mobile veterinarian for cats and dogs by day and lives in Tampa, Florida. Her hobbies outside of yoga include roller blading, hanging out with her four pets, trying new restaurants with friends, and going on weekend trips with her husband.

How yoga has developed a spirit of peace in my life: During grad school I found myself falling into a cycle of stress and busyness. I was craving more of a “quietness” to my life, or at least more quiet moments, and quickly began signing up for yoga classes multiple times a week. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Jesus was meeting me on that mat. The hour that I spent in yoga classes developed into a devotional time for me where I often found my mind quiet enough to hear God’s voice. Transitioning my yoga practice into a spiritual practice allowed me to find more inner peace than I ever had before. I began looking into faith-based yoga classes online and came across a yoga community called Holy Yoga. It was through them that I did my 200hr yoga instructor training, while keeping Christ at the core of our yoga practice. Since then, I have enjoyed teaching classes in Gainesville and Tampa, Florida. Our yoga flows tend to revolve around a specific verse or chapter of the Bible, with the aim of aiding in memorization or reflection. I’m excited to have you join me for a mini-flow on peace!
