For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. -2 Peter 1:5-8
A Prayer For Growing In Godly Virtue
Father God, You invite and encourage us to never stop growing. You provide us with a firm foundation of never-ending love, allowing us to continuously build upon our faith. Each day, help us grow in goodness and knowledge. Strengthen us with self-control when we are weak, and grant us perseverance when we feel weary. Let Your Spirit guide us so that our actions and choices reflect Your ways. Teach us to extend kindness and love to everyone we encounter. May these qualities abound in us, Lord. Let us never stop growing and producing good fruit, so that we can fulfill our purpose of leading others to know You.
